About Me

Me on the swings circa 1990. (This is still how I picture myself.)

So, you’ve stumbled upon my blog. Lucky you. Here, you’ll find mostly field notes from the front lines of parenting, but you may find a few gems about faith, cooking, farm life, marriage, or anything else that gets me hot and bothered (mostly bothered, rarely hot). My posts aren’t strategic, or necessarily helpful. I simply open up my heart, and pull out a story. I usually post once a day, but sometime two. I might post at 10 a.m. or 1 a.m., so you’ll never get bored with consistency. Whee!

Another thing you need to know about me. I’m perfectly discontent. I love my life, but find that I’m never quite content, and I’m perfectly fine with that. It’s what keeps me going, keeps me searching, keeps me wondering. The things that mean the most to me: following Christ, spending quality time with family, and laughing with friends. I’m a wife, mom, aunt, daughter, sister, friend, and a pretty darn good cook.

Things I love:
– Books, books and more books!
– Dark chocolate
– Red wine
– Semi-strong coffee (w/ two Splendas and a squirt of milk)
– Sushi
– Fluffy robes
– Chunky babies
– Dirty martinis
– Medium rare steak
– Hot homemade biscuits with butter and honey

Like my writing style? I write for money, too. Check out my samples here. Maybe we can work on a project together someday.

  1. You weren’t much older than in this photo when I came into the family and yes, sometimes it seems you should still be this little girl. You’ve grown up too quickly just as my own son has. I do enjoy watching the adult “kids” as they become parents and wonder about all the same things I did.
